The cloister of the Convento de San Antonio, one of two cloisters attached to the Templo de San Francisco, is an active religious space and not open to the public, although I managed to sneak this photo today when the gate was left open for a few minutes, July 2019.

This photo of the Parroquia in San Miguel, when the moon happened to appear directly overhead on the axis of the nave, was taken almost exactly fifty years after I visited San Miguel on July 20 1969 and first saw this extraordinary building. This also happened to be the same day as Neil Armstrong’s historic first footstep on the moon, an event I watched here in a local cantina. July 2019.
