Fifty Years Ago
This photo of the Parroquia in San Miguel, when the moon happened to appear directly overhead on the axis of the nave, was taken almost exactly fifty years after I visited San Miguel on July 20 1969 and first saw this extraordinary building. This also happened to be the same day as Neil Armstrong’s historic first footstep on the moon, an event I watched here in a local cantina. July 2019.
