It is the rainy season in San Miguel, and many evenings, just as you are ready to sit outside and enjoy a Margarita, the heavens open up and it buckets down for an hour or so. San Miguel is built on a fairly steep hillside, so all this rain becomes a raging torrent in the cobbled streets as it gathers momentum on its way downtown. When this happens there is no way you can cross from one sidewalk to another, so you just have to stay put and enjoy the show for a while.
