Seafront at Campeche in the Yucatan peninsula of Mexico. Feb 2018

The seafront at Campeche in the Yucatan peninsula of southern Mexico has been the subject of some innovative redevelopment as a remarkable public space. Landscaped walking, running, and cycling tracks run along a sitting-height sea wall for over five kilometers along the Gulf shore. Even the palm trees give the impression of high design, with the white-painted bases (to deter bugs from climbing) and the banded strips where the annual leaf growth has been removed.
