Pablo Hermoso de Mendoza at the Plaza de Toros in San MIguel
Last night in the Plaza de Toros in San Miguel, we had the privilege of seeing Pablo Hermoso de Mendoza, acknowledged as the World’s greatest rejoneador, or horse bullfighter, perform. To watch the way this Spaniard and the several remarkable horses he rode perform their ballet with the bulls was an unforgettable experience. For those who hurrumph at this kind of thing I am sure the bull lived and died much better than the other 100,000 or so head of beef that expire unceremoniously each day in the USA alone, just to end up in a bun with some fries.
